Mining and production in Mexico is conducted by Minera Mexico, a holding company and a subsidiary of Southern Copper. Minera Mexico has three subsidiary groups: Mexicana de Cobre S.A. de C.V., Industrial Minera Mexico S.A. de C.V., and Operador de Minas e Instalaciones Mineras S.A. de C.V. In Peru, the company operates the Cuajone and Toquepala mines in the Andes and a refinery in the city of Ilo. Southern Copper also has a railroad and port facilities for use by its metal production operations. Southern Copper Corporation trades publicly on the NYSE using the ticker SCCO.
