Starbucks Corporation is an American multinational chain of coffeehouses engaged in the roasting, marketing and sale of specialty coffee via branded outlets in towns and cities all over the world. The company has its headquarters in Seattle, Washington, and is the world's largest coffeehouse chain. The company was founded in 1971 as a single coffee house in Seattle’s historic Pyke Place market. Starbucks venues are now found on high streets, in malls and food courts, and in airports and train stations worldwide. As of December 2021, the firm has around 32,660 company-operated and licensed stores in more than 80 markets around the world, selling coffee and other beverages, food and snacks, packaged coffees, single-serve coffee products and a focused selection of merchandise. The company also sells products under various other brand names, including Teavana, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Evolution Fresh, Ethos, Starbucks Reserve and Princi. Starbucks coffee products are sourced from coffee farms in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, with more than 30 blends and single-origin premium coffees available.
