Uber Technologies, Inc. develops and operates technology applications to support a variety of transportation offerings. Operating internationally, the company manages a platform that connects consumers with providers of food delivery services, ride services, merchants, and public transportation networks. Founded in 2009, Uber Technologies has its headquarters in San Francisco, California. Uber Technologies operates its business through three segments: Mobility, Delivery, and Freight. Through the Mobility segment, Uber connects consumers with drivers who provide rides in various vehicles, including taxis, cars, motorbikes, auto rickshaws, and minibuses. The Mobility segment also handles activity related to the company's uber for business (U4B), transit and vehicle solutions, and financial partnerships. This segment also manages grocery and convenience store deliveries in select markets. Uber's Freight segment connects carriers with shippers on its platform and permits the booking of a shipment.
